I am sure you are familiar with the Goodreads Giveaway program either as a writer or reader. As a reader it is a sure fire way to get a free book but as a writer its a waste of time and money.
Goodreads has two tiers, $119 or $599. The first fee is just to list the giveaway; you get nothing else. The second fee pays for Goodreads to allow you to contact the winners. Crazy. I did a giveaway back on 2013 and the people actually reviewed the book but today, all they want is free stuff. Some of them don’t even read books. My giveaway was last month and I have yet to see one review of the book. 100 ebooks and not one review. This writer has learned NEVER to giveaway anything on that platform again and I suggest you do likewise.
